Hi, I am Jacqueline!

I started Joyful Connections Occupational Therapy because I am passionate about your child’s physical, social and emotional well-being.

I am a Pediatric Occupational Therapist based in Newmarket, Ontario that is dedicated to helping you find practical sensory solutions so that your child can feel more regulated and comfortable in their body. I am a trauma-informed therapist who understands how your child’s past experiences can shape how they see the world around them.

I am a mother of three beautiful children, and I know what it is like to hit roadblocks with your child and have nowhere to go. I understand your desire to make sense of your child’s behaviour, and the late-night google searches that fuel your worries. I feel your pain as you look around and see other kids who don’t seem to struggle with the same challenges as your child does. I have been there.

Taking the next step to start therapy can be scary and difficult for you and your child. I am here to walk with you and empower you every step of the way. If there is anything you would like to talk about, please feel free to reach out. I am here for you.

MY TRAINING

I have over 14 years of experience as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist specializing in children.

I have worked with many children, parents and educators in schools and in homes. I have extensive training in the Sensory Integration framework, and I am dedicated to finding practical solutions to help your child navigate this world full of sensory stimulations that can be too much for their body.

I am a certified DIR Floortime therapist with Profectum, and I am here to facilitate meaningful and joyful connections between you and your child. I am also a certified Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Provider. I am here to help your child’s nervous system find the safety and balance that it needs to feel regulated so that they can sleep better, eat better and relate better.

MY APPROACH

I believe that a collaborative approach will bring us the most success.

My Occupational Therapy treatment sessions are play-based. In play, we can find joy, healing and motivation for success. Most importantly, I want to empower you and your child to connect in a deeper and more meaningful way.
